Passive Me, Agressive You

the naked and famous

I’ve been listening to the 2010 album Passive Me, Aggressive You by New Zealand band The Naked And Famous a ton lately.  In fact, if I were to make my best of 2010 list now, I’m sure I would have included them in ranks with The Tallest Man On Earth, Arcade Fire and Phantogram.  But hindsight is 20/20 right?

I was albe though to name them as one of my fave new artists of 2010.

Aside from the standout (and arguably one of my top 5 favourite songs of the last few years) “Young Blood” and other catchy singles “Punching In A Dream” and “Girls Like You”, this album has depth and few (if any) weak points.  I’ve found such gems in “The Sun” (below on as part of a C4 session) and the explosive “Spank” that have made me keep this as my go-to record for biking to work these days.  Hopefully you know the record.  If not, its not too late to jump into it.
