Last week, I found this track while making my “Trending” playlist for Aux. Refs were moving way up the Hype Machine top 50 and guessing by who was posting about the song, I could instantly tell it was going to be something just right for Indie Music Filter. Refs is the collaboration between producer Zachary Andrew (Black Light Dinner Party, High Highs) and r&b virtuoso Richard Saunders, while “Pain Goes Away” is their first soundcloud upload and one of the most blogged songs of 2015. Check it out.

“Sons And Lovers” by Black Light Dinner Party, from their debut album (out Sept. 24th). The kaleidoscopic clip depicts the tragic story which led to the creation of Black Light Dinner Party, animated by Matthew Yarrington and produced by Dreambear.
I’m the guy at the Insomnia coffee shop in West Hollywood with hands in the air, bobbing my head to “Sons and Lovers”, the title track to Black Light Dinner Party’s debut album. Featuring seering synthesizer pulses breathing in and out of subterranean bass and LCDesque drumgrooves, I can’t help but love this new track. Reminding me of the great songs of Miike Snow, toss this track on right away. Stand up and make a scene like me.
Look for the album out Sept. 24th.
Since March of last year, I’ve been posting anything I can get my hands on from Black Light Dinner Party. All those tracks I’ve put up are now in one spot, the first official EP, ‘BLDP’ which came out this week. And along with a new track. Check out the newest song “Length Of Lace” below or stream the whole EP here. Grab the EP on iTunes here.
Black Light Dinner Party are back with their first release of 2012 called “Leave It All”, to follow up the trio of great tracks they gave us last year (Older Together, Small Boxes and Gold Chain). Look for the band selling this track on vinyl at their upcoming summer run of NYC and Boston dates, leading up to a debut album is on the horizon.
