March is statistically such a great time for new music, as you can tell by the size of this months’ group. I had to trim a few from the list, but what’s left, is the cream of the crop from the blogs last month. Tons of new discoveries including Romes, WILDES, Rostam, Teleman plus new tracks from IMF faves Anna Of The North, M83, Oyster Kids, Still Parade and Great Good Fine OK.
I love a good Take Away Show. Here’s Victoria, BC’s Aidan Knight performing “Funeral Singers” for a La Blogotheque Take Away Show. The song comes from his new record Each Other (out now via Outside Music) which was produced by Marcus Paquin (Stars, The National) and demonstrates Knight’s evolving musical depth and ability with a subtle melody.
Aidan is currently on tour, check the dates below.

It’s a bit sad to think that this might be the last month I post a monthly playlist on Rdio, as the service has announced its closing. Of the multiple online platforms I use, Rdio was my favourite and will be missed here at Indie Music Filter. Good thing I’m making these playlists on Soundcloud and Spotify as well. Maybe I’ll bring back Youtube too.
This month’s playlist is an eclectic mix featuring some gems (from bands Wild Ones, St. Lucia, Beach House), collaborations (Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam, j.viewz and Milosh, RAC and Filous) and covers (Great Good Fine OK and Panama Wedding doing “Easy Lover”).
