Currently Listening To: Wildlife Control
Over the holidays, I got a bunch of press releases from bands and I found some gems from it, but I couldn’t really writing anything on the blog about them. Right after I posted my best of 2011 posts, I checked out and took some time off from the site. Now, its a new year and I feel like getting back on this thing.
First find is the song “Analog Or Digital” by the band Wildlife Control. They band created an interactive HTML5 video for the song using the soundcloud API. The scenes are rendered on a “pixel” grid of HTML divs and with each play you will have a unique viewing. Also, every time the video is played from the SoundCloud player, it checks if a new sixteenth note has passed, and if so, the javaScript renders the appropriate sprites on the video frame. Keeping the action precisely timed with the audio. Plus, the SoundCloud comments from the track are displayed within the video. More about it here.
