Greetings from Brave Shores (BRAVE SHORES TAKEOVER)

Hey there, IMF.
I guess we’ll start by introducing ourselves.
I’m Stef, and this is my brother Jay, and we are Brave Shores. We thought it would be fun to name our band with the same initials as… Black Sabbath. You might have heard or seen the video for our song “Never Co me Down“, especially if you’re from Toronto like us. We also just recently put out a video for our second single, “More Like You“.
This is our bass player Dave (aka. DVD)

I drew him at the airport today on the way home from Vancouver.

He’s got a wicked project of his own called Wax Atlantic, which you should definitely check out here.
This is Mike Brushey. He’s got 9 toes and plays drums for us.

And this is JJ.

He’s our wonderfully Chesire Cat-like friend who plays keys and sometimes guitar. We like to change it up.

Video: “More Like You” by Brave Shores

“More Like You” from Toronto duo Brave Shores. The video was shot at an apartment on Dupont St. in Toronto during the coldest few days of Feb 2015. The band invited their friends from Tony Ho (comedy team behind our last video “Never Come Down”), some other talented weirdos and had a 3 day party with no sleep, turning the place into a dreamy fun-house filled with smoke and mirrors and textures and plants.

Have you heard of Brave Shores? They’re a Toronto electro-pop duo comprised of brother and sister Jay and Stefanie McCarol, who have just released their self-titled debut EP on October 28 (Universal). There’s a pretty good chance you’ve heard their first collaboration together, “Never Come Down“, featured in a Bell Canada commercial last year. The interest that ensued enticed the two to sit down and write what would become their debut EP.

Toronto people, check them out next month as they open for Big Data on December 17 as part of The Edge’s “Jingle Bell Rock” event. For fans of CHVRCHES, The Naked and Famous, check out “Dancing Underwater”.
