After growing sick of Neverland, Eugene Francis Jnr, one of the lost boys, decided to start a career in music. In his video for Poor Me, we’d normally assume its all some sort of weird dream sequence. For a lost boy? That kind of stuff happens all the time.

I was nicely surprised today opening my e-mail to hear a little about Eugene Francis Jnr, a Welsh artist previously of Dirty Perfect and Kaptainblack. His solo effort is variety of sounds, or again that interesting term I’ve fumbled with, folktronica. Think electronic with hints of country, folk, rock. Or his description, ‘evan dando whilst piggybacking beck and bright eyes but collectively on less drugs with more of a falsetto‘. I couldn’t find a better way to describe it.

My favorite track is My Own Pollution on his myspace page, which I think is a homage to Beck.
