At this point, I don’t like it better than “Eyes Be Closed”, but I’m only a couple listens in so that may change over time. July 12th will be the date when Ernest Greene (aka Washed Out) will release his debut LP Within and Without (via Sub Pop). Current expression: Totally stoked.

Good day for music, I’ve been finding great things in my inbox and on the blogs. While perusing Pitchfork, I came across Washed Out‘s new track “Eyes Be Closed”, off Ernest Greene’s upcoming Sub Pop release Within And Without. I totally dig this track, reminds of a perfect soundtrack to tropical Travelogues. Perhaps it was that fan video for “Feel It All Around” that pigeonholed his sound for me, but these two tracks share a similarity it the high-tom fill-in build to the end chorus.
