Montreal duo Folly & The Hunter has returned from hiatus with fresh energy, bearing a captivating and polished set of sophisticated, cinematic indie-pop. Their lead single “Remain” is the track that catalyzed their new upbeat feel. Organically grown out of an improvisation, experimenting with grittier sounds and more driving rhythms, “Remain” moved the group past the stylistic constraints of their previous work.
The duo are set to release a new LP via Outside Music later this year.
“Awake”, the title track from Folly & the Hunter‘s new album. The video was shot in Montreal by director Brandon Calder who said of the video “The concept of this music video explores how we can let our strongest emotion, fear, control our lives. I wanted to explore this theme without being too bleak or depressing about it. Even if we all experience fear in our lives, how we overcome it is up to us. And when we do beat it, the reward is one unmatched“.
The band are just about to embark on a 33-date tour beginning tomorrow at the
Sandbanks New Waves Festival. The Montreal four piece will board a plane to Amsterdam after their set to begin a European tour, directly followed by a headline tour of Quebec and then a cross Canada tour in support of fellow Montrealers Half Moon Run.
