Indie Music Filter: Best Of August 2015 (PLAYLISTS)

It was a bit of a slower month for new music, but these “best of August” playlists came together quite nicely. Whether you prefer to listen via Soundcloud, Rdio or Spotify, I’ve got some brand new tunes featuring the return of Half Moon Run, GEMS and Saintseneca, new tunes from CHVRCHES and Foals plus a couple surprises in Good Field, Steven A. Clark and Zibra.

Good Field began as the solo recording project of Paul Price, former member of Brazos and The Early Tapes, and secondary guitarist and bassist for Voxtrot. Their latest album, Future Me, was recorded and produced by the band in 2013-2014 in home studios and several secluded locales in Texas using their portable recording rig. Once mixes of the record were prepared, White Denim front man James Petralli spent several weeks in a studio with Price adding creative mix and production ideas to polish the sounds.
