I’m over at Gold Soundz at the moment, taking a listen to the new song “Dangling In the Aether” by Toronto band Heartbeat Hotel. Head to their bandcamp to hear another called “Downhill”, both from a new 12″ EP out on November 26th called Intae Woe. Great timing on this, they’re that band I’m always wondering whats next from. Toronto folk, lets go to their release party at The Silver Dollar Nov. 26th.

Glad I’ve got another reason to post about this great song (previously I included it on Aux.tv’s Class of 2010).

Toronto-based quartet Heartbeat Hotel are exciting to be moving in an exciting new direction with their debut 7″ single on Cobra Cobra Records called “The Hello Barrel”. Sounding quite different from the phaze-pop “Windowsill1″ which we recommended a little while back, this track will satisfy Fleet Foxes, Beach House and Yukon Blonde fans for its rich harmonies and wistful lyrics.
Heartbeat Hotel originated in Peterborough, ON as the indie-pop group Mariposa, before moving to a warehouse space in Toronto. They’ll play the Piston (937 Bloor St W) June 3 with Boys Who Say No and HUT.
