Currently Listening To: Daniel Wilson
Normally in these “Currently Listening To” posts, I’m introducing you to an artist that I very recently just became aware of. But in the case of Daniel Wilson, I’ve actually known his music for a while, I can’t believe I still haven’t got a post up on the site about him just yet. I guess it fell through the cracks, but I’m glad I’ve circled back to his music today.
Daniel Wilson is a 23 year old singer songwriter from Detroit who’s just put up his Boy Who Cried Thunder EP online, featuring some incredible songs. Last month, his stunner “If You Went Away” moved me enough to throw it into my best of November mix, today I’m loving the EP opener “Proofread” (check out below). Really, the EP is worth a test drive, ranging from “driving electro pop to upbeat piano-driven soul to atmospheric, reflective minimalism, highlighted by his distinctly pristine, soulful vocals”.
