Take a listen to this wonderfully stripped down version of The War On Drugs’ “Red Eyes”, by Swedish singer/songwriter Alice Boman for Swedish National Radio.
Lost In The Dream, the upcoming album by The War On Drugs is, as of right now, one of my top 5 most anticipated releases in March – so it’s no wonder they’ve just given us some tantalizing pre-gifts to wet the palate and enthuse the mind. It’s for the first single “Red Eyes” and shows all the members of the band posing as judges in a talent contest I would most probably end up in. It’s completely sweet and real – which is the exact sentiment their songwriting exudes. Here’s the link to pre-order the album and you’d get a big “X” from us, if you don’t.
Today is a good day for a few reasons. I got an early start at work, solved a site issue and got to spend some time with new songs from a band I’ve really become a huge fan of. Philadelphia’s The War On Drugs blew me away with their 2011 album Slave Ambient; since then I’ve been patiently awaiting new tunes. If “Red Eyes” is an indication of how good Lost in the Dream (out March 18th, 2014) is going to be, call me excited, pumped. Call me Al.
