revelator

Premiered the other day over at Filter Magazine, Brooklyn trio Papertwin (who we featured last week here) have covered Gillian Welch’s “Revelator”.  As Rolling Stone once put it so accurately Welch’s version is “what rock & roll would have sounded like had it been invented in the 1930s Dust Bowl”.  Papertwin layer some synth, drag it from the 30’s into a more current sound and lighten it in certain spaces.
