Back with another post on Rhodes and his debut album, Wishes. The album is a book of short stories: about overcoming fears, battling relationships, persevering, and loving. In it he gives us a few extra treats including a moving duo with Birdy and even a cover of Taylor Switft’s “Blank Space”. If you like this one, check out my other favourite, “Turning Back Around.”
Playlists are in! Pick your platform of choice (Soundcloud, Rdio and Spotify) and get listening to what rocked the blogs last month (featuring Favela, CHVRCHES, Sego, Born Ruffians and many more).
RHODES (David Rhodes) takes us on a journey with his delicately raspy vocals in this emotional track. “I wrote the song about running away from something and wanted the momentum of the percussion to feel like I was never turning back,” he said in an interview with TIME.
RHODES is an indie singer-songwriter from the UK who tends to carry a somber tone throughout his pieces. He released his first EP in 2013 with Charlie Fink and James Kenohsa of Noah and the Whale.
This music video below was shot in Cyprus, and though I shamefully get a little sea sick for a moment every time I watch it, it’s so mesmerizing that I keep coming back.
