Anything involving/created by or composed with members of the bands we love are naturally going to set the bells ringing in our ears, so when it popped up that Michael Angelakos (Passion Pit lead singer) co-produced a new pop song we had to press play. The track title is “OctaHate” and it’s by New Yorker Ryn Weaver. Another one to stack atop all the other Summer tunes.

There are moments in the spaces between her lyrical verses (in the beginning and the end of the song) that shouts Jessy Lanza’s track “Kathy Lee”, which I’ve put below, because well why the blimming not. Interesting to see how foundations can be built on by different artists covering various genres.
