Indie Music Filter: Best Of November 2015 (PLAYLISTS)

It’s a bit sad to think that this might be the last month I post a monthly playlist on Rdio, as the service has announced its closing. Of the multiple online platforms I use, Rdio was my favourite and will be missed here at Indie Music Filter. Good thing I’m making these playlists on Soundcloud and Spotify as well. Maybe I’ll bring back Youtube too.

This month’s playlist is an eclectic mix featuring some gems (from bands Wild Ones, St. Lucia, Beach House), collaborations (Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam, j.viewz and Milosh, RAC and Filous) and covers (Great Good Fine OK and Panama Wedding doing “Easy Lover”).

St. Lucia recently remixed Joywave‘s “Somebody New”, which is honestly one of the best remixes I’ve heard all year.

Stereofox featured Day Wave‘s song “Total Zombie” today, and I realized I’ve never put this track up on the site (until now).

Finally, looks like I might be coming around on Cayucas’s latest album “Dancing at the Blue Lagoon” (out this week via Secretly Canadian). Here’s “Moony Eyed Walrus”.

Forgiveness

Good news for St. Lucia fans, as today the band have let us hear a new track (“Forgiveness”), one of three, off the deluxe edition of their album When The Night. The band have also just announced a fall US tour (called “The Night Comes Again Tour”), with support coming from Haerts, Joywave and The Knocks. I guess we’re to just hang on until then.
