I’m really digging this song right now. Above is ‘Evelyn McHale’ by Parenthetical Girls, the opening track on the first of five limited-edition 12″ EPs to be released. Not to be sold in stores, the EPs together will make up Privilege, the bands’ 4th studio album. Finishing up this release schedule in May of 2011, the last EP will come packaged in a LP box designed to house all four of the preceding relases. Look for them at Slender Means Society.

The song name comes from the story of the most beautiful suicide. I bet you’ve seen this picture, do you know how it came about?

-Speaking of Julians and prominent NY bands, Interpol front-man Paul Banks (aka Julian Plenti) has a couple new songs out there. Check Stereogum or his homepage.
-The new Dodos album leaked on to the net 2 months before the street date, so the band decided to put it online to stream. I haven’t had the chance to sit down with the whole record, but I’m warming up the the third track ‘Fables’, which P4k has online.
-Back to Stereogum, they have the song ‘Wet Hair’ by Japandoids on The Gum Drop. Have you signed up for this yet?
-There’s a new Atlas Sound song floating around featuring Panda Bear, titled Walkabout. This just made my summer mix.

Have you heard these new Doves tracks? Don’t know much about them, but while perusing some music blogs I came upon this post from Sell The Lie about the new songs Winter Hill and House Of Mirrors. The album Kingdom of Rust is out on tuesday.
Phoenix has a new song out there called Lisztomania delivers what we’re used to from this French group. Catchy melodies wrapped in syncopation. Love it. Try the hype for the mp3, here’s the unofficial brat pack video.
Stereogum has two tracks off M83‘s ‘We Own The Sky‘ single. Check out the exclusive b-side ‘Je Vous Hais Petites Filles‘ and Parkerlab‘s Dusted remix of Graveyard Girl.
