Junip

I thought Junip was an English word I hadn’t learned yet, but I still can’t seem to find anything on that. Perhaps I was thinking again about crossing things again; delicious Turnips and a Jujube. Wikipedia has this: Junip is ‘a swedish band featuring Jose Gonzalez‘.

Its an interesting extension of his acoustic crooning. A switch of darkness for sadness. Perhaps the addition of Elias Araya (Drums) and Tobias Winterkorn (organ, moog) influenced this. On the band’s webpage you can find Black Refuge (which I thought sounded good but distorted, like a bad mp3) and Official (great psych-build at the end).

The video for Black Refuge is also quite amazing. Probably says more with a healthy dose of hash.
