New Music From Ryn Weaver, “The Fool”

I’m excited to be posting some more great music from Ryn Weaver.  Take a listen to the title track from the singer, songwriter and producer’s debut album “The Fool” (June 16 on Mad Love/Interscope Records).  “OctaHate” was such a massive first single for an artist who came completely out of nowhere; it had a lot of us wondering how anyone could follow such an entrance.  A few listens in and I’m convinced this track just may stand up to her first.

When Weaver first burst on the blogs, I felt there was little to no bio info and an incredible amount of speculation as to how her career started.  Well, officially from this press release in my inbox, Weaver was born and raised in southern California and started experimenting with music as a child, moving on to writing and producing as a teenager. While living in New York in 2009, Weaver met producer Benny Blanco and later reconnected with him in Los Angeles. After hearing Weaver’s music, Blanco introduced her to Michael Angelakos (of Passion Pit) and the three began working together soon after.

Weaver will embark on her first U.S. headline tour this summer, with dates including Los Angeles’ El Rey, New York’s Music Hall of Williamsburg and Bowery Ballroom and festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Osheaga, Firefly and more. More details and tickets here.
