Have you heard the latest from Toronto-by-way-of-Sarnia singer-songwriter Andrew Austin? He’s about to release his latest record While It’s Still Light Out on MapleMusic Recordings (October 8th), featuring the track “Inside Out” (below).
Austin recruited the legendary producer David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals, We Are Augustines) to help carve out the sound he has been cultivating for years. Boasting a talent that can thread lines between Paul Simon‘s minimalist folk and Patrick Watson‘s anthemic exploits, Austin is pushing the limits of the singer/songwriter genre and proving that his musical chops are a force to be reckoned with.
What: Im feeling sorry for sitting on this post, as tonight is a release party for Torontos Andrew Austin. The Drake will host the party, which is to announce the release of 2 new songs and a video for the songs So Easy (below) and No Flowers. Considered a folk-ier departure from his earlier groove-based recordings, Im liking the new direction and am looking forward to hearing new songs (in whatever packages and demoninations they come in).
Song: So Easy. For fans of Adem of Patrick Watson.
