A little bit about band names

I used to help manage a band in Toronto called Contact. When the band was named, I don’t think a lot of thought was put into how people might find said band on the Internet. If you type ‘Contact’ and ‘band’ into Google, you don’t get even close to the bands homepage. Every band has a contact page!!

Same thing with Brooklyn’s !!! (Chk Chk Chk), or pronounced Check, Check, Check. When you type ‘!!!’, you get no results. But check (no pun) this out,

If you’ve casually downloaded a !!! song and put it on your iPod, you might have heard a song of theirs by accident quite a lot. When bands are arranged by artist, !!! comes before all bands beginning with ‘A’. And when you hit ‘play’ while in the main iPod menu, your machine defaults to play the first song by the first artist in the alphabetical list.

That’s why I know the song Must Be The Moon. It totally rocks, look for it.
