Lilla Vargen opens her 2018 account with the striking ‘Believe Me’, an intimate, honest torch song that builds to a memorable coda. It was written by the emerging Northern Irish talent over the course of last year, and produced in West Cork by Nick Rayner.
Lilla on ‘Believe Me’: “It was inspired by a friendship that was quite complicated. I let that person down before and I was determined not to do it again. The only way I could explain myself, to let them know I was ready to let my guard down, was to put my words down on paper, and post the letter.â€
It follows her debut EP, ‘Hold On’, released in October 2017, which featured the title track and a cover of Majical Cloudz ‘Downtown’. The three-tracker has racked-up over two million Spotify plays, and was tipped by Radio 1, KCRW, Mahogany, Nialler9, Majestic Casual and more, with ‘Downtown’ popping up in James Bay’s personal playlist on Spotify.
