I’m going to be playing with this all day. Much like the Arcade Fire video for Black Mirror, the viewer is actually able to manipulate both video AND audio. The video, directed by Tool of North America’s Sam Jones, (Wilco’s “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart”), features four distinctly different versions of the song played by the band’s four members. Each member was filmed on a darkly lit stage, playing their parts on vibraphone, guitar, bass, keyboard, standup bass, and more. These versions were recorded so the parts can be mixed together or played on their own.
Would that be 625 different combinations of this song? (Well, 624 as a version where they’re all not playing shouldn’t count). Wow, just had a flash back to grade 11 finite math class.
