Great Night Out

If you follow this blog, you know I’m not one to do many live reviews.  The reality is that I go to a lot less shows than I used to and I’ve become pretty picky in which shows I choose to check out.  Last night though, I was able to catch two of my favourite bands in one place, Canada’s Wintersleep opening for Scotlands’ Frightened Rabbit at the Phoenix.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a perfect pairing of bands to perform together.  The show was fantastic.  Both bands ran through just about all of their hits and fan favourites (with the exception of Frightened Rabbit’s “Keep Yourself Warm”) .  The crowd was loving every minute of it, regardless if they had to get up for work today or not.

The show for me was a fun night with close friends and a reminder about the power of live music.
