MusicDNA the new mp3?

Was reading an interesting article on Exclaim! today about a new format of digital music file called MusicDNA, which may be ready to roll out by the summer. Developed by Norwegian-based Bach Technology Ltd., the file will hold not only music, but artwork, videos, lyrics, ongoing blog updates and more, with a 32 gigabyte limit. Similar to Apple’s iTunes LP format,MusicDNA will allow people who purchase the files to receive updates (feeds on future tours, interviews, social networking page updates), while those who illegally download the track, only get the music.

The sounds really interesting. Now, what I’m wondering is if a blog gets permission to post a song, will they be able to offer a MusicDNA track, or is that only going to be available in online stores? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
