Papertwin is Max Decker (vocals, guitar, synth), Francis Cardinale (drums, programming) and Nick Shopa (synth), friends who previously (and sometimes still) moonlight as valet car parkers, land surveyors, piano tuners, landscape painters, denim tailors, movie popcorn poppers. After two homespun EPs, the band is set to release their first studio collaboration, Vox Humana, on June 17 2014. Recorded under the guidance of producer Abe Seiferth (Yeasayer, Eleanor Friedberger, Turing Machine), and mastered by Joe Laporta (Vampire Weekend, Beach House), the EP continues the band’s unique sense of synth-pop. Dreamy, dark, and nostalgically sci-fi, Vox Humana features analog synthesizers, driving percussion, and reflective vocals.
I’m glad I starred this e-mail the other day with a link to Papertwin‘s “Alkaline”, take a listen.
