VIDEO: “How Do I Say” by Slow Leaves

Grant Davidson (aka Slow Leaves) has shared the new video for album track “How Do I Say”, from multiple Prism Prize nominated directors Ft. Langley, aka William Wilkinson and Oliver P.D. Brooks, via Booooooom. The song itself “was written in part with Richard Linklater’s film Before Sunrise in mind,” says Davidson. “It’s a tragic love song that takes place at the moment two people meet, drawn by a magnetism greater than either can express with words. The tragic side is that they must part ways in the morning.

We enjoy trying to find unusual themes for the songs we write for,” says Wilkinson of the video’s retro-future surrealist tones. “A lot of the time music genres will have corresponding visuals themes that it gets paired up with, which gets boring. You don’t usually match up folk music with surreal sci-fi. It’s far more interesting to us to play against convention.”
