With all this talk about 2016 being such a horrible year, at least the music didn’t suck.
Here’s my Top 50, built from my collection of monthly playlists. Listen, like and share.
See you in 2017,

Looking back on the month of May, the blog looks a little thinner than usual, definitely because I’ve been bad making time for the blog because of a new job. Could also be a slower time for new tunes too, who knows. Either way, these playlists still have some gems, just expect a shorter playlist than usual.
Check out new music from Hannah Georgas, Holy Fuck, Prides, Monogem along with IMF newcomers Carmody and Seramic.

I might be out of the loop lately, not hearing these new songs from Hayden Calnin‘s Cut Love Pt. 2 EP until just now. Some sources say this EP was released in April, yet the soundcloud comments on said track below (“Ultra-Beast”) state that we’re to expect the work to come out on May 13th. Either way, I’m late to the game, but doing my best to catch up.
Take a listen to a song that Clash Music declares “cuts deep, a patient, observant piece of music that seems to fall somewhere between M83 and Bon Iver“.

It’s been a strong week for music videos, especially considering this one for Hayden Calnin‘s “Cut Love“. Shot in Melbourne and Victoria’s Otway National Park, the video features lush greenery of an old forrest in slow, backwards sweeping shots set to Calnin’s haunting vocal. The video was directed by Calnin and Lukas McFarlane, who also stars in the video with Calnin’s sister Daisy.
It’s really one of those videos you can just completely immerse yourself in and get lost. Maybe I’m developing a thing for interpretive dance, as its the 2nd video this week I’ve posted from an Australian, that feature a couple of modern dancers, see Jarryd James’s “Do You Remember”. Either way, an incredible visual compliment to a beautiful song.
The song comes from the album Cut Love Pt. 1.
There’s no slowing down with great new music in 2016, with February putting up a strong answer to what was an incredible January. Take a listen to some new music from Gypsy & The Cat, Bravestation, Phoria, Miike Snow along with IMF newcomers Diskopunk and Coast Modern.
Something for everyone.
