Back in February we saw Cid Rim’s edit for CHVRCHES “Recover”. Now, it’s Mikky Ekko’s ‘Kids’ that gets slowed down to a pace that lures us in with crisp finger clicking that has replaced the former anthemic melody. It’s somewhat calmer and smoother with synth notes brushing over the former original – creating a new emotive and takeout.
Produced by Benny Blanco and John Hill is Mikky Ekko’s latest visual offering for his track “Kids”. The video sees the talented muso with his pinball counterpart travelling to numerous public places. Albeit non-sensical and that temperature wise it’s meant to be squelching and hot, we see some non-sensical figures holding mirrored shapes toward the light. Odd, nevertheless, yet endearing – just like this Louisiana singer who is also (irrelevant fact time) sporting a new haircut!
Here’s a bit of Pop fun for you…
I’m stuck on The New Division at the moment. The Los Angeles band recently put out the Night Escape EP, which sounds like a current spin on sounds from ’80s forefathers Depeche Mode and The Joy Division. Want something to keep on repeat this weekend?
and an older track, “Starfield”.
