It was a bit of a slower month for new music, but these “best of August” playlists came together quite nicely. Whether you prefer to listen via Soundcloud, Rdio or Spotify, I’ve got some brand new tunes featuring the return of Half Moon Run, GEMS and Saintseneca, new tunes from CHVRCHES and Foals plus a couple surprises in Good Field, Steven A. Clark and Zibra.
Wow, I had a bit of a hard time getting this post down under 5 songs. There’s lots of great new music out there today. Take a listen to what made my cut, featuring brand new music from Half Moon Run, a HAIM remix of Tame Impala, a new Foals track, a Christine and the Queens remix and a brand new band called Amina.
Montreal-based quartet, Half Moon Run, have returned with news of a lush and expansive 13-track second album, “Sun Leads Me On”, set for release on October 23. “Trust” is our first listen to the record.

Well, the site was quite bare for a week and a bit there. Real life takes precedence and I didn’t see any way to keep putting up new music while navigating the craziness of family life last week. Emerging from the darkness, catching up, here we go.
