TalkFine

I couldn’t find anything I liked in both my inbox and in the feeds I normally check daily.  Perhaps I need to go through my subscription list and find some new blogs to follow.  Can you recommend any?

Maybe I’m getting a little too picky though for finding new music.

I hit the hype machine next, to see what songs people were talking about.  A look at the popular charts sometimes tells me about a band/single that I might have missed in my inbox, but today it was all remixes I didn’t feel like listening to.

A quick trip on Shuffler.fm sorted me out.  What I love about that site is that you can choose a channel (say “Indie”), then jump from track-to-track, via site-to-site.  You win twice when you not only find a great new band to talk about, but finding a new blog to follow. Five songs in I landed on Surviving The Golden Age and heard the song “Water’s Gettin’ Too Hot” by Brooklyn band TalkFine.   The band are set to release their new album, Lesser Known Hits in May and this first single (below) works for fans of Miike Snow, or “Kraftwerk covering Stevie Wonder” (nice comparison Adam).
