Crouched down, fists clenched, eyes scrunched and screaming.  This is but one description from the many overlapping characters stuck in their own habitual loops in We Were Evergreen‘s new video.  It’s the single ‘Daughters’ that has caught my attention.  The french trio spent the most part of last year touring alongside Little Dragon and London Grammar, not that you’ll need any other reason to enjoy them any more after you click play.  They manage to modernise the 2000’s for me with an instant flashback to the sounds of Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie.  Perhaps it’s also that the production team for the music video too who have created a set and used real actors as opposed to abstract moving images/animated figures we so often see nowadays. The video is apparently director Dominique Rocher’s take on the Danaids myth inspired by Zbigniew Rybczynski’s award-winning animation short from the 80’s called; Tango.

It’s a gloriously authentic and hyperactive display of the wonderful and bizarre facets of a human being, did I mention how brilliant the actual song is too?  Syncopated beats wonderfully gelled with vocal techniques and repetitive loops.  Spring 2014 marks the release date for their debut album so get to know them here first.
