“Play Dumb” by The Crookes, from their sophomore album, Soapbox (out April 15th via Modern Outsider).   The Sheffield quartet spent most of March in the U.S. performing at SXSW, and touring west to Los Angeles, previewing the record that they recorded over a few weeks in rural northern Italy last fall.  The follow up to last year’s Hold Fast LP, released in North America in September, The Crookes have racked up an international gig-count that puts most other bands to shame, prompting BBC’s Steve Lamacq to describe them as “one of the most hardworking and prolific bands of the underground.”

They hit the road in the UK and Europe in May, and will return to this side of the pond later this summer.
