Thats the new single off the upcoming 4th album (You & Me) by The Walkmen, out on Gigantic this fall.
I’m excited. They’ve still got that sound I love about their music; chaotic drums, heavy organ, jangling guitars with reverb and a scratchy rasp overtop.
What : The first single off the next record from Haligonian Matt Mays and his band El Torpedo . The record is called TerminalRomance , it hits stores July 8th. Hopefully this new record will keep true to Matts sound, bridging musical styles between Neil Young , Tom Petty , The Boss and a your favorite road trip soundtrack through dusty roads in the north.
I heard about this movie from reading The Playlist. The film is getting pretty good reviews, but its also has a killer soundtrack. MGMT, Ting Tings (who played here last night, I went to Annuals), Black Kids, and some Canadian love on there with Unicorns, New Pornographers and Patrick Watson. Dawn of the Dead by Does It Offend You, Yeah? was one of my favorite songs of the moment, until it was replaced by another DIOYY track, Being Bad Feels Pretty Good. Check it out here.
Does it scream 80’s montage? Think that’s where the song gets it name…
