The Amazing‘s breed of psychedelic folk rock has always found a way to pierce me in times of reflection. Being a creature of seasons, The Amazing have typically been my soundtrack to autumnal contemplation with their alluring lyrics and meandering melodies, drawing the mind to The Moody Blues, Tame Impala, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.
Their latest track, “Picture You“, is a fleshed-out epic that, while clocking in at over nine minutes, does just enough to keep the dream down on the ground. The Amazing are no strangers to long instrumental breakdowns, but its forthright, affirmative delivery in this track is a welcome change.
The candidness remains the same, but “Picture You” is an anthem from a band that may be discovering that contemplation may not necessarily be kept to one’s self. The track will be released on the band’s upcoming LP of the same title, out February 17.
